About The Program

The Foresters CAREER Mentoring Program pairs Lake Forest College juniors and seniors with professionals in the Forester community who share a common career interest, major, and/or geographic location. Through this connection, students can obtain valuable advice regarding their future and next career steps, and also expand their professional network.

How it Works

Students and professionals are carefully matched using the information provided upon registration. After being introduced over email, the two will schedule a time to meet over the student’s winter break in December or early January. Mentors and mentees are provided with sample conversation starters to guide their discussion.

An optional follow-up call to conduct a mock interview is suggested in mid-March around the time of students’ mid-semester break, and participants will be sent materials to facilitate this exercise. Beyond these two calls, program participants are then encouraged to maintain this Forester connection if they both have interest and availability.
